Book Summary/ Blurb:

"It was never meant to be just a love story. Because destiny had other plans for both of them."

Bethany Carlson

I was working, breathing, and living my life as it is.

Where did you come from? And why?

Do you even know how you shattered my so-called Mirage?

Because left in bits and pieces, I was a forgotten cry.

Then,

You demanded the truth. But... I was a complete lie.

Gerald Fletcher

I wish I knew all the answers to the where, when, and how.

How will I ever explain the pull I had when I first saw you wishing someone to whisk you away?

From the Lies, Crowd, Pretense.

Because I knew you were the trouble I was going to invite in my life.

So, I couldn’t stop myself from barging into yours.

The only thing is, you are stuck behind the walls.

You don’t want to be solved and saved.

And I can’t let you walk alone.

Not now.

Not ever...so screw me.

My Honest Review:

I have recently bought this book from Amazon. And it's thankfully available on KU too. This book has shown me a new perspective of life which I am not sure if I've ever seen before.

I mean, I am right now in a situation where I am finding it hard to describe my entire experience with this book. But, dear readers, I will try my best to talk about this book. As this book deserves a great applaud, first of all.

The author, Nilakshi Garg, made a seriously genuine effort in her first debut novel. I have recently read on her profile on FB that she has crossed 25k sales of Mirage already. I am so proud of this author, Nilakshi Garg, for bringing such a gripping story to the market!

So, what's so special about it that I can't stop wondering where to begin? The thing which I loved was the genuineness of the female lead, Bethany Carlson. Then, there was utter and sheer suspense throughout the book, I mean at least till the 60-70 percent part of the book. I was literally wondering what's happening and why is it happening!!

The woman, Bethany Carlson, is our female lead in this novel by Nilakshi Garg. This novel portrays this woman as an independent woman living in Chicago, Illinois. She is actually a tattoo artist. She is proud of her talent and the tattoo parlor.

But there is something mysterious, hidden, twisted, dark about her personality. She lives alone and hates socializing other than the necessary conversation. She is all business but not without her two fancy and cute workers. Trisha and Suzie are cousins. They are so sweet and pole apart. You have to read their scenes, and you will automatically form an image of each character without much hassle.

The next is Gerald Fletcher. He is a senior financer and is portrayed to be a simple guy with a straightforward and patient mind. I mean, who is that much patient these days, people? This guy, Gerald Fletcher, literally has blown off the charts to be the best book boyfriend!!

He is too calm, composed, yet he is willing to open about everything when it comes to the main lead, Bethany. He has made up his mind!! But Bethany seems to be playing with his heart and her own as well. She is literally a gone case in her head. The case is not clear why that is till the second half of the book.

That is what keeps this book super interesting for the readers!! You will keep imagining what could have happened. There are some hints in the between when she acts out of the space in front of different characters in the book. So, readers may or may not be able to decide what is actually going on with her and her tiny but crazy brain.

The end is super-duper cheesy, romantic, and worth it all. Gerald has been a family guy, totally. He has a giant family!! So, this novel is definitely for those who love an onslaught of characters. You will so many of them in this novel. But the introduction is also given to many of those not explained before. This way, maybe, the author has left the scope for a sequel if she ever decides to go forward with it!

Now, yes, I am really and totally looking forward to a sequel or another series of this world Mirage world. I want to know other family members and characters too. I can say, one book was not at all enough for me. If the author, Nilakshi Garg, is reading this, she should get down to the next novel for sure!! Because!!! Argh!! Who wouldn't want it?!

Every single male character in this novel is super hot!! Be it Gerald or his brother or someone else. So, yes, Nilakshi Garg has definitely raised the bar and hunger of Indian readers to tell others on the face, that yes, we've got an awesome Indian author too now who can write romance like she is herself living it and compelling her readers to live each moment too!!

Going back to the review, I would say the end was a smashing hit. The past, when it is revealed, leaves to cry for a few moments... for sure!!

I won't be spoiling this for you, sneaky readers, out there! But....but...but... you must read it! At least for the sake of her attempt and the lovely characterization.

The entire plot has been a mix of cliche and original story content. The feelings have been humorous, irritating, annoyed, erotic, hopefully, full of life, and full of hope in the end.

So, this book, I would recommend for every one of those who want to see their lovely characters suffer in the middle and then get a sweet happy ending. Because, why not? They deserve it all. That's all that happens in real life too. Don't you think?

We all are made to go through the roughest and darkest patches and phases in our lives. That all one day makes sense when we receive the achievement, enlightenment, and the happiness we have always deserved.

So, yes, read this book when you think life is not giving you any hope, or when you are lonely, or totally single. You would fall in love with Gerald Fletcher from day one. So, yes, you will be highly entertained!

A self love letter to you, from you, Sunshine :)

Hello Sunshine, How have you been doing these past few days? I know, this is a touché topic to talk about these days but I hope things will get better real soon and we’ll all be able to forget this new normal and will get back to being out older selves with a few changed and better habits that we learned throughout this pandemic. Sunshine, it is not always easy to be our best selves in all the situations but you’ve got to start from a certain point, right? I heard you’ve been thinking that you’re turning into an emotionless being? That you have no idea what you are feeling and why. Tell me something, didn’t you smile last night when your whole family was with you last night, enjoying dinner and watching TV while talking about your childhood memories they cherish till date? Didn’t you embrace the wind you felt on your face while riding your scooter? Didn’t it make you smile? Didn’t you cry when you thought about the fact that there might be a few years left for you to live wi...

Let's pour our heart out today!!

People often say, things never come easily to us. We need to work hard and really very hard to get the things in life that we really want to achieve. Often times I think about being a content writer, sometimes a data scientist or maybe a teacher or just staying a reader for life. People say that I've not been doing much in life professionally/ career related because they do not see me growing. I too think about all this many a times because who doesn't? I like to call these kind of days, " Reflection Days " when I sit down with a diary in hand (sometimes not even a diary) and think about everything I have done, achieved, experienced, regret not doing in this whole life or just the past year to be specific. The conclusion that I reach upon is considerably vague because I just cannot reach a proper conclusion to all these things, I guess no one can. Nonetheless, I reach upon the conclusion that I might have not done what my friends are doing or I might not have achieved...
