ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS

Hello BookLovers!!

Today, We'll talk about the book "ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS" by SAURABH KUMAR.

BLURB
Like many immigrants, twenty-four-year-old Ifran straddles two worlds. Although he's assimilated to life in the United States, he's still deeply rooted in his Indian culture and Muslim faith. At times he feels like an outsider, but working as a journalist for LA Daily is the perfect opportunity to broaden his horizons. Ifran's first assignment is to interview a woman arrested for showing an anti-Islamic movie at a gay-pride parade.
When he arrives at the prison, Ifran is shocked to learn that the defendant, Jenna, is actually a burgeoning porn star. She insists that she's innocent and that the film promotes same-sex marriage while discussing opposing religious beliefs. Even more surprising is Ifran's fascination with Jenna. He can't help but be intrigued by her confidence and passion for promoting sexual awareness even if he thinks differently.
With more research, Ifran discovers that Jenna uses porn as her platform to convey deeper messages of empowerment and acceptance. It's a unique approach, and he convinces his editors to let him write a full story. As Ifran immerses himself in Jenna's world, however, he soon discovers another side of himself one that may be more open-minded about women and sexuality than he originally thought.

MY REVIEW
1. COVER
The cover is the first thing you see when you take a book in your hands and the cover of this book is just so beautiful.
I could not start the book for at least an hour just because I was in some other world, it is that beautiful.

A 5 on 5 for the cover.

2. TITLE
I don't think that the title really justifies the plot but, it does a pretty decent job.
3.5 on 5 stars for the title.

3. ABOUT THE BOOK
The story is set in LA.
An Indian Muslim, Ifran, lives there and for his living, he is working in a firm where he needs to complete an assignment.
A girl named Jenna is the person Ifran needs to complete the assignment on.

They both talk to each other and with time get to know about each other's lives and work.

Jenna's life and work are the two main things that are highlighted in the whole novel.
It is about the porn industry and how spirituality is related to sex.

Many of you may differ on this point of both of these things being related.
I would suggest this book to all the people who want to read a book about the life of the people working in the porn industry and the people who think that sex and spirituality are similar in concepts.

RATINGS
4 out of 5 stars.

A self love letter to you, from you, Sunshine :)

Hello Sunshine, How have you been doing these past few days? I know, this is a touché topic to talk about these days but I hope things will get better real soon and we’ll all be able to forget this new normal and will get back to being out older selves with a few changed and better habits that we learned throughout this pandemic. Sunshine, it is not always easy to be our best selves in all the situations but you’ve got to start from a certain point, right? I heard you’ve been thinking that you’re turning into an emotionless being? That you have no idea what you are feeling and why. Tell me something, didn’t you smile last night when your whole family was with you last night, enjoying dinner and watching TV while talking about your childhood memories they cherish till date? Didn’t you embrace the wind you felt on your face while riding your scooter? Didn’t it make you smile? Didn’t you cry when you thought about the fact that there might be a few years left for you to live wi...

Let's pour our heart out today!!

People often say, things never come easily to us. We need to work hard and really very hard to get the things in life that we really want to achieve. Often times I think about being a content writer, sometimes a data scientist or maybe a teacher or just staying a reader for life. People say that I've not been doing much in life professionally/ career related because they do not see me growing. I too think about all this many a times because who doesn't? I like to call these kind of days, " Reflection Days " when I sit down with a diary in hand (sometimes not even a diary) and think about everything I have done, achieved, experienced, regret not doing in this whole life or just the past year to be specific. The conclusion that I reach upon is considerably vague because I just cannot reach a proper conclusion to all these things, I guess no one can. Nonetheless, I reach upon the conclusion that I might have not done what my friends are doing or I might not have achieved...
